The Incredible Journey of Planning Youth Conference

But I'm too stressed in the middle of it to want to blog about it!  ;)

So, since I haven't blogged in a while, and am slap-happy and ridiculously pleased with how greatly I have just entertained myself, I share with you my YC-inspired rewrite of Let Us All Press On:

Let us all press on in the work of the camp
Whether sunny hot or rainy damp
If we do our best, we'll get the approval stamp
And the blessings of service are so great!

Fear not, we can conquer all the work
Courage, and please don't be a jerk
We will bless the camp as we do service by the bunch,
And at eleven a.m we break for lunch.

We will stack the wood, so the scouts may make a fire
We will roof the cabin so they stay dry as they desire
We will clear the trails, though our bodies may tire
But our attitudes will stay so great!

Fear not, the bugs will flee before us
Courage, as we sing this joyful chorus
We will serve with joy, the Sioux City Youth Conference way,
And this afternoon, we get to play!

Let us tackle all, whether south, west, east, or north
Let us do our best, as we show what we are worth
We will live our theme: Arise and shine forth
And we'll leave this camp looking so great!

Fear not, but please remember to hydrate
Courage, let this chorus motivate
28 hours of awesome; let's not procrastinate
And the dance tonight will be so great!
